I thought the UEFA Nations League was made to be played instead the international friendlies.
Yes and no. Yes, it's meaning is to give a bigger importance to friendly games, to be more attractive to the fans and in the same time those games to count as official games in the FIFA rankings coefficient and the most important part is through UNL games lower teams can get a better draw at next World Cup qualifying or go in the play-offs qualifying for EURO and get one of those 4 tickets like Hungary, Slovakia, Scotland and North Macedonia did it and got at the EURO 2021. And the "No" part is as we can see, specially before big summer tournaments, there's always friendly matches in the end of may-start of june time. Also, in autumn, between the UNL groups stages or EURO/UEFA qualifiers, due to odd groups, there's still some free dates to play international friendlies.
